Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority Hosts
Stone Soupers For a Day at UCLA

Ninety sorority sisters of the UCLA chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma recently staged "A Day in the Life" event on campus, hosting more than 90 Stone Soup students. Kids from the third and fourth grades at El Monte, Little Lake City and Mountain View schools were bused to Bruin Walk, given T-shirts and treated to visits to many parts of the campus.

They joined UCLA cheerleaders in victory yells, learned volleyball techniques, listened to stories, participated in exciting games, and were introduced to the academic and extra curricular activities offered by the University. Snacks and a Bar-be-que were provided along with fun, including UCLA backpacks, stickers, pencils and paper. The day ended with a mock graduation ceremony with certificates and prizes for every child.

All arrangements and costs for the unforgettable day were handled entirely by the sorority. Students happily wrote thank you notes to these generous benefactors. We at Stone Soup wish to express our sincere thanks to Kappa Kappa Gamma for giving our children the chance to experience first hand the electric atmosphere and eclectic opportunities available at a major university.
