Field Trips
Learning Far Afield From the Classroom
Field trips make the whole world a classroom for Stone Soupers.
One of the most exciting recent field trips was an invitation by members of the UCLA chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma to visit the UCLA campus. The sorority sisters made it possible for Stone Soupers to learn from the UCLA cheerleading squad, members of the volleyball team and get a taste of life as a college student.
Everyone came home a winner.
Through a fund-raising drive the Kappas also contributed to the Stone Soup Reading is Fundamental program.
Other field trips that Stone Soupers have enjoyed have included events in parks, the annual SOUPER Bowl and visits to a grocery store to put their knowledge of healthy eating to a real life test.
